Alex Simon – Executive Director  - Developing entrepreneurial schemes since he was 11, Alex now helps connect students around the world with opportunities to engage in the microfinance industry and other social innovation spaces. Alex has worked with a variety of organizations including the Young Presidents’ Organization, Ashoka, MFI Connect and Minga. He’s a Startingbloc Fellow, a travel-addict, and former caterer extraordinaire. Alex graduated from George Washington University (where he was a Compass Mentor!) with a degree in International Affairs.

Michael Durante – Program Manager -  So a bearded moose, a pocketwatch, and a little girl walk into a bar. The bartender says, “Didn’t you read the sign?! No shirt, no shoes, no service!”

That joke doesn’t make much sense; in fact, it’s nonsense. But that’s ok because Mike Durante is all about turning nonsense into sense (and vice-versa). And isn’t that what entrepreneurship is all about? Mike’s certainly all about entrepreneurship. He’s also a former haberdasher, a mean cook, and an aspiring farmer. He likes his milk unpasteurized and his granola homemade. And really, what more can you ask for in a Program Manager?
